The St Thomas's Monastry was founded in 1212, and the first documentary evidence of the Thomasschule ( St Thomas School )
dates from 1254. The choir has long since found a firm place in the concert life of Leipzig.
Over several months a camera team accompanied the choir, observed the choral day, from the entrance examination and the first day at school to graduation.
In a one hour long Christmas concert the boys perform works by composers who in one way or another are connected with the history of the choir.
