The Red Hot Chili Peppers had gone through more than most other rock bands experience in their entire career during the first eight years of their existence before 1991, when they suddenly conquered the world with their smash album Blood Sugar Sex Magik. An ever-changing cast, lavish drug consumption, even the death of a band member couldn't stop the Chili Peppers from pushing on. In July 2004, the Yokohama crowd witnesses a sworn-in brotherhood: singer Anthony Kiedis backed by a threepiece groove collective that prove to be true kings of rhythm. Whatever this triple star is up to, it's always full-on rock 'n' roll in your face! Even the intro, originally intended as a laidback warm-up, provokes acute nodding seizures among the audience, before subsequent funk bombs like Can't Stop and Around The World finish them off. The live versions of Californication and Give It Away are literally bursting with energy. Only hell can be hotter!
